استهداف دورية روسية في ريف القنيطرة

استهدف مجهولون دورية من الشرطة العسكرية الروسية بعبوة ناسفة في قرية المعلقة بريف القنيطرة الجنوبي. وقال سكان محليون إن سيارات إسعاف شوهدت متجهة إلى منطقة الاستهداف، وسط انتشار لقوى أمنية وتحليق لطائرات استطلاع روسية. كما تم نصب حاجز مؤقت في المنطقة دقق في البطاقات الشخصية والسيارات للمارة.
ويُعد هذا الاستهداف الثاني للشرطة العسكرية الروسية في جنوب سوريا منذ بداية شهر أغسطس (آب) الحالي، حيث استهدفت عبوة ناسفة صباح الخميس الماضي، دورية من الشرطة العسكرية الروسية أثناء مرورها على أوتوستراد دمشق - درعا بالقرب من جسر مدينة داعل وخربة غزالة، دون وقوع إصابات.

اليونيسف تُحذر من كارثة تواجه الأطفال في إفريقيا

 حذرت "اليونيسف" من موت الأطفال في القرن الأفريقي ومنطقة الساحل بأعداد كبيرة ما لم يتم توفير دعم عاجل، حيث يتلاقى سوء التغذية مع خطر الإصابة بالأمراض المنقولة عبر المياه.

وأصدرت المديرة التنفيذية لليونيسف، كاثرين راسل بيانا، يتزامن مع الأسبوع العالمي للمياه قالت فيه: "يُبيّن التاريخ أنه عندما تترافق المستويات المرتفعة من سوء التغذية الحاد الوخيم لدى الأطفال مع تفشي الأمراض المميتة مثل الكوليرا أو الإسهال، فإن وفيات الأطفال ترتفع بشكل كبير ومأساوي. عندما تكون المياه إما غير متوفرة أو غير آمنة، تتضاعف المخاطر التي يتعرض لها الأطفال بشكل كبير".

وحذرت من أن ملايين الأطفال، في جميع أنحاء القرن الأفريقي والساحل، "على بعد مرض واحد فقط من حدوث كارثة"، مضيفة: "تخيل أن تضطر إلى الاختيار بين شراء الخبز أو شراء الماء لطفل جائع وظمآن ومريض أصلا، أو بين رؤية طفلك يعاني من العطش الشديد أو تركه يشرب المياه الملوثة التي يمكن أن تسبب له أمراضا قاتلة".

وذكرت راسل أن "العائلات في جميع أنحاء المناطق المتضررة من الجفاف تضطر إلى اتخاذ خيارات مستحيلة"، مبينة أن "الطريقة الوحيدة لوقف هذه الأزمة هي أن تكثف الحكومات والجهات المانحة والمجتمع الدولي التمويل لتلبية احتياجات الأطفال الأكثر إلحاحا، وتقديم دعم مرن طويل الأجل لكسر حلقة الأزمة".

ووفقا لـ"اليونيسف" يعاني أكثر من 2.8 مليون طفل في كلتا المنطقتين بالفعل من سوء التغذية الحاد الوخيم، مما يعني أنهم أكثر عرضة للوفاة بنسبة 11 مرة من جراء الأمراض المنقولة بالمياه مقارنة بالأطفال الذين يحصلون على تغذية جيدة،.
