ناقش رئيس أركان الجيش الإسرائيلي أفيف كوخافي، «التهديدات» التي تشكّلها إيران إلى جانب الوضع الأمني الهش في الضفة الغربية خلال اجتماعه في البيت الأبيض مع مستشار الأمن القومي الأميركي جيك سوليفان، في أثناء الزيارة التي بدأها كوخافي (الأحد) للولايات المتحدة وتستمر 5 أيام.
وقالت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية إن كوخافي اجتمع مع كبار المسؤولين الأمنيين الأميركيين من أجل مناقشة جهود التنسيق ضد إيران. لكنَّ إدارة بايدن تطرقت إلى الأوضاع في الضفة الغربية، خوفاً من انهيار محتمل للسلطة الفلسطينية مع استمرار حملة الجيش الإسرائيلي الجارية في الضفة، وعنف المستوطنين هناك.

أفادت مصادر بـ«اتحاد كتاب مصر» أنه بصدد اتخاذ إجراءات قد تمهد لشطب 3 من أعضائه. هم «يوسف زيدان، وعلاء الأسواني، ومنى برنس»، وذلك على خلفية التحقيقات بشأن اتهامهم بـ«التطبيع مع إسرائيل»، وهو فعل محظور وفق لوائح وقرارات الاتحاد وجمعياته العمومية المتتالية.
وتنوعت أسباب الإحالة للتحقيق للكتاب الثلاثة، ففي حالة الأسواني، كان السبب المعلن يعود إلى «إدلائه بحديث صحفي لإذاعة إسرائيلية»، بينما أحيل زيدان بسبب إعلانه عن «استعداده لإلقاء محاضرة في تل أبيب بشرط موافقة اتحاد الكتاب المصري، بينما نشرت برنس صوراً لها مع السفير الإسرائيلي بالقاهرة».
