Why is travel so hard, and what could make it better?

I haven't been on a vacation in 10 years. Part of the reason, admittedly, is I'm a workaholic. The other part is I hate flying. I despise the lines, the cramped seats, the security -- all of it feels like a giant waste of time. http://dlvr.it/STdzbT
