بالتزامن مع كشف النقاب عن قصة مواطنة إسرائيلية تجسست في موسكو وعملت على هجرة اليهود الروس، عاد إلى تل أبيب الوفد المفاوض خالي الوفاض، من دون التوصل إلى اتفاق حول قرار موسكو حظر أنشطة الوكالة اليهودية في روسيا. وقالت مصادر سياسية عبرية، إن هناك حاجة كما يبدو لرفع مستوى الحوار إلى أعلى الدرجات السياسية.
وأكدت هذه المصادر، أن الرئيس الإسرائيلي، يتسحاق هيرتسوغ، ورئيس الحكومة، يائير لبيد، أجريا «محادثات هادئة» مع المسؤولين في موسكو «عبر عدة قنوات، بما في ذلك (عبر وسيط أجنبي)» (لم تحدده)، وأشارت إلى احتمال تسليم الملف إلى هيرتسوغ ليحاول تسويته مع الرئيس فلاديمير بوتين.

وفي سياق منفصل، نالت دوقة كورنوال كاميلا، زوجة الأمير تشارلز حصة من الفضائح التي تضمنها كتاب «الثأر: ميغان وهاري والحرب بين آل وندسور» للكاتب الشهير توم باور، بعد أن كشف أنها كانت هي الشخص الذي تنمر على لون طفل الأمير هاري وميغان ماركل قبل أن يولد. وأكد الكتاب أن كاميلا كانت الشخص الذي أطلق التعليقات العنصرية، وتحديداً عبارة “الأصهب – الأفريقي” (ginger afro) على ابن زوجها الأصغر هاري وزوجته ميغان قبل ولادته.

 وكانت ميغان ماركل قد كشفت خلال مقابلتها الشهيرة مع الإعلامية الأمريكية أوبرا أنها تعرضت لمعاملة عنصرية وتنمر في القصر الملكي، وتم الحديث عن لون طفلها حتى قبل أن تنجبه، دون أن تكشف عن هوية الشخص الذي أقدم على ذلك. وفي المقابل، وبعد انتشار الكتاب، نقلت صحيفة الدايلي ميل عن مصدر مقرب من القصر نفيه أن تكون الدوقة كاميلا قد فعلت ذلك، مبرراً بأن ذلك ليس منطقياً. لكن الكاتب توم باور قد سبق، وأكد أنه تأكد من كل المعلومات الواردة في الكتاب بشكل قاطع.
